సూళ్ళూరు పేట గా మారిన శుభకరి పురము (సుళ్ళు ఉత్సవం):
| 7 సంవత్సరములకు ఒక సారి జరిగే తిరునాళ్ళ లోని తోలి మూడు రోజులలో తప్పని సరిగా సాయంత్రం వేళలో సుళ్ళు ఉత్సవము శ్రీ చెంగాళమ్మ ఆలయ ప్రాంగణము లోనే నిర్వహించడము ఆనవాయితి . రాట్నం గల సుడిమానును ప్రతిష్టించి జీవముతో ఉన్న మేకపిల్లను, పసుపు గుడ్డతో ఉన్న ఓడిబాల తో పాటు పూలమాల ,మనిషి బొమ్మను వేరు వేరుగా కట్టి ఎంతో ఆర్బాటముగా గుండ్రముగా తిప్పడాన్ని "సుళ్ళు ఉత్సవం" అంటారు. ఎక్కడా లేని విదముగా సుళ్ళు ఉత్సవము ఇచ్చట జరగడం వలన శుభకరి పురము కాస్త సుళ్ళు ఊరుగా , సూళ్ళూరు గా మారి వ్యాపార కూడలి గా పేట కూడా కలిసి సూళ్ళూరు పేట గా ప్రసిద్ధి కెక్కింది. ఈ ఆలయాన్ని దర్శించుకొనేందుకు రోజూ 2 వేల మంది పైగా భక్తులు వస్తుంటారు. |
